Total Waste Management

Polkacrest is a leading supplier of professional, sustainable, clinical waste management solutions. We work in partnership with our customers to provide a bespoke collection, treatment and disposal service of all types of waste produced within the healthcare sector.

At the heart of our approach is the concept of Total Waste Management which, we believe,
offers our customers - and the environment and society as a whole - significant advantages.

The Polkacrest approach provides a single, experienced, expert contractor to take care of all of our customers' requirements and concerns, allowing them to concentrate on their core activities, content in the knowledge that Polkacrest will deal with their waste in an efficient, cost-effective and environmentally-responsible fashion.

The Total Waste Management approach means that, by considering all your requirements strategically, we can ensure that best practice is adopted and efficiency gains realised in key areas such as waste segregation, treatment and disposal, staff training and recycling.

Our professional partnership approach means we work closely with you to provide maximum support in a wide range of areas. Polkacrest is committed to investment in technological improvement and provides one of the safest and most cost-effective waste treatment processes in the world.

Highly-effective, totally customer-focused project management plays a critical part in Polkacrest's success. We have a unique approach to the management of major contracts.

With an NHS Trust, we seek to jointly appoint a dedicated Waste Advisory Manager whose sole responsibility is to assist and advise the Trust's management in all aspects of clinical waste disposal, as well as, of course, ensuring the quality and delivery of the contract.

Such attention to detail is invaluable for our customers in many ways and financially, it can be very rewarding.

For example, ensuring that domestic waste does not get into the clinical waste system saves a lot of money because clinical waste is more than five times more expensive to handle than domestic waste.

And, the values that underpin the way we do business, are totally in tune with the principles of Total Waste Management. We seek to be:

  • Reliable: We keep our promises. When we say a job can be done, it will be done. If it cannot be done, we will work hard to find a suitable alternative solution
  • Proactive: We take responsibility for client issues and aim to provide the best advice and service at all times
  • Responsible: We take our responsibilities to customers, the environment, health and safety and all relevant legislation very seriously and act accordingly
  • Expert: Our business is a leader in acknowledged waste management best practice
  • Flexible: We always view our services from a customer point-of-view, providing individually - tailored solutions, exceeding expectations wherever possible
  • Innovative: We constantly look for new ways of improving or refining what we do for customers
  • Realistic: We are committed to fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Responsive: We are quick to recognise the impact of changes in our industry, within our customers' organisations -and then we respond fast for the benefit of our clients
